Third Roto trade press day at the Velbert aluminium production plant
At the production location of Roto aluminium window and door technology and ahead of the ‘BAU 2009’ building exhibition in Munich, it seemed obvious to place emphasis on the AluVision strategy, situation, and product range. Within this framework, the premium innovation ‘AluVision T 600’ was introduced – a fully concealed hardware for large aluminium windows with a sash weight of up to 130kg that will be presented at the ‘BAU’ in January 2009.
A set topic was, as in previous years, the consideration of current markets and sales for the two company group divisions of roof and solar technology, and window and door technology. Dr. Eckhard Keill, chairman of the board of directors, pointed out that reliable forecasts on building activities are currently impossible in the face of the worldwide turbulence on the financial markets, but that the global presence is more than ever the best company insurance. The example of the successful market development in Russia is concrete evidence of that.
A further emphasis was the representative survey among end users on the subject of ‘windows’, which the public opinion poll institute ‘forsa’ recently carried out on behalf of Roto in Great Britain, Poland and Hungary after its prelude in Germany. The central finding: windows are apparently anything but a “low-interest product” throughout Europe.
Further programme points of the press day, which was as packed full of information as ever, was a positive interim report on the subject of product segmentation currently being implemented by Roto as well as the presentation of the ‘Young Professionals Programme’, a company-wide, uniform, junior staff programme that prepares young graduates from around the world in an interdisciplinary manner for advanced positions in the company.
